Payforit UK becomes mandatory for T-Mobile and 3 UK

We have had confirmation that T-Mobile and 3 UK will implement Payforit for mobile browser-initiated purchases on March 1st 2009 and March 31st 2009 respectively. As such all pay per view/click/page is not permitted unless it falls within the Payforit payment requirements.

62866 shortcode expiry

The 62866 Bango shortcode will expire at the end of February.
Please make sure that all your marketing and advertising is changed to reflect another shortcode by then as no communications will be sent or received via this shortcode from the beginning of March.

Bango Terms and Conditions change

We have added a note on chargebacks in the Bango terms and conditions, which reads as follows:
All chargebacks made against all payment methods (including credit card and operator on-bill) are passed on and charged against your Bango account. Credit card chargebacks additionally carry a $25 fee per transaction.

Customer Update 23/02/2009

Today’s customer update included information about Payforit becoming mandatory for all UK operators.
The PhonepayPlus prior permission regulation in the UK  relates to subscriptions that are GBP4.50 per week, and not per month as stated in the Customer Update. More information on this can be found here.

Improved messaging for Users

The page that was shown to users when they entered an incorrect Bango number, or followed a dead link has been updated.
 
The user is now told that they may have entered an invalid/unrecognized Bango number and are given the following options that they can link back to:

Sprint and AT&T subscription payment page changes

We have made some slight adjustments to the subscription payment pages that are displayed to both Sprint and AT&T users.
Previously the Sprint and AT&T pages looked like:

User text messaging extended to more countries

We have extended the text messaging service to users in the following countries:
 
UK
USA
Switzerland
Finland
Sweden
Spain
Germany
Canada
Australia
 
This is used if they have forgotten their Pin numbers and need to access their Bango account. Users are still able to view Bango help on their handset or contact Customer Services if they need to.

Bango Analytics – Resolved

The Bango Analytics reports are currently unavailable. All data is still being recorded, we have just disabled the reporting due to technical difficulties. As soon as these have been rectified, you will be able to see your reports.
